An inspiration to the series of these photographs is an old slavic fairy tale ' Vasilisa the Beautiful' and a great art of wonderfully gifted artist Vania Zouravliov, who introduced me into Russian folklore.
The tale is about a girl named Vasilisa, her treatment at the hands of her wicked step-mother and involvement of an very old, bonned legged, witch called Baba Yaga.
My photographs are not literal illustration of what we can read in a tale.
I get into this story in my own, intuitive way. The tale is very deep, symbolic and multilayered. I could 'touch', only a very small part of it, finding my own emotions associated with the story. The huge part of this mighty world of imagination, will always remain untouched.
